Laradon's overarching goal is to provide innovative and individualized services to children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) so that they can lead independent lives. Throughout its 71 year history, Laradon has achieved phenomenal results and has positively impacted thousands of Colorado's citizens with IDD. Laradon is a family-founded, nonprofit organization developed on behalf of children with IDD in Colorado. Laradon has an exceptional history, with staff dedicated to helping people achieve their dreams and a deep commitment to providing individuals with IDD all of the opportunities that life has to offer. Laradon was envisioned by two parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Calabrese, who believed that their two sons deserved access to education as much as children without disabilities. The Calabreses decided the only solution was to develop a special school for their sons and any other children like them in Denver. Mission:?Laradon?s Mission is to be an organization of excellence that provides superior, individualized services to children and adults with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities, supporting their independence in daily life and maximizing their full potential.
