Global Technologies' world is smaller than it used to be. Formerly Interactive Flight Technologies, a company that made in-flight entertainment systems for airliners (one of which was implicated as a possible cause or contributing factor in the 1998 crash of a Swissair flight), the company was bought by new owners who changed the name to Global Technologies. Referring to itself as a technology incubator, the company had owned 74% of broadband communication and entertainment startup The Network Connection, which shut its doors in 2002. Its surviving venture is a 24% stake in TNCI UK Ltd.; TNCI UK, which develops entertainment systems for passenger trains, has filed for bankruptcy.
