The people at Amerex know that when "it's raining, it's pouring," their profits are soaring. The company makes outerwear and swimwear for men, women, and children. Founded in 1946, it has licensing agreements with brands such as kate spade, 7 for All Mankind, Jessica Simpson, Ellen Tracy, Jones New York, London Fog, Oshkosh and Carters. Amerex also produces outerwear and swimwear under its own labels including Red Carter, Bleu|Rod Beattie, 1 Madison, Details and Weather Tamer. The manufacturer's products are sold in major department stores and specialty retailers throughout the US and Canada. Chairman and President Ira Ganger bought out retiring partner Fred Shvetz in 2006.
