Piedmont College is a private, co-educational, liberal arts college serving a population of more than 2,000 students. It offers nearly 40 undergraduate degree programs, as well as graduate programs in business and education and a doctoral program in education. Piedmont, which has campuses in the Georgia towns of Athens and Demorest, is affiliated with the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches and the United Church of Christ. The college was founded in 1897 under the direction of Methodist minister Reverend Charles C. Spence and the school still strives to instill a sense of moral responsibility to its students.
