Since being founded in 1989, Intrepid has created a sustainable experience-rich travel style that gives back to the people and places it visits. We are the largest global adventure tour operator, with a collection of three tour operator brands; 21 destination management companies and a not-for-profit foundation. As a certified B Corp, we are a new type of business that balances purpose with profit. Independently owned by its co-founders and staff, Intrepid has been taking small groups to travel the local way, on real-life experiences for more than three decades. In 2019, Intrepid offered more than 2,700 trips to more than 130 countries and on all seven continents, carrying some 470,000 travellers. Our not-for-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, has raised over AUD $10m for more than 130 charities around the world. As a certified B Corp, we hold the highest social and environmental standards. We've been carbon neutral since 2010, and in 2020 we became the only tour operator to have verified Science Based Targets ? these are ambitious 2035 emissions reduction targets, in line with a 1.5?C future.
