The heavy construction contractor has built many of the Midwest region's dams and bridges, interstate highways and local streets, and commercial and residential sites needed for development. Its services cover site grading, demolition, excavation, concrete and asphalt paving, structural wall construction, and sewer and waterline installation. Its Kansas and Missouri-based operating subsidiaries are involved in everything from aggregate supply to mining to real estate development. George Clarkson founded the firm in 1880 as a land-clearing and excavation contractor. Clarkson Construction is now a sixth-generation, family-owned enterprise.
